Tomorrow, Concert Tomorrow!

It’s not a dress rehearsal really. My 92nd St Y buddies are coming for a bagel brunch and music. I am supplying both. I enjoyed getting ready yesterday and when I casually asked Tuvia if I should cancel the whole thing he said no! Your playing is beautiful. I have one piece that’s frustrating…but as long as I stay focused on the beauty of the notes, and not speed, it will be good.
I played today for Dana and she loved it! It felt good to be sitting in my recital spot and trying to get lost in the music. I was playing too fast, but I could watch her as I played from time to time and she was really enjoying it. She’s heard me practice in the past, but today she just sat most of the time and listened and she loved Song of the Thief. It was great to have an audience. Jon was right.
Then Jon came here to my place I just had to change out of my pj’s. Ive be inside since Sunday at 2 from the rains. Yesterday was not a day to get out. It was cool to stay in this clean house, play guitar, work on my H is for the Hudson, talk on the phone etc.
My lesson was a focus of really preparing for a concert. We worked on our duet and then Jon had me play my pieces for performance practice. Playing each chord each note as perfectly as possible, without considering timing. A prepartiong to just hear the beauty of the notes, to sing the piece and it helped. Really helped to build my confidence and hear how each note and chord should and could sound.
Wow, beautiful. Jon feels good about my work. Me too! Tuvia as well! Success!
