The Day After
Posted by blk1 on April 23, 2007
And life moves on…How wonderful! You have that great moment that you’ve planned and worked for and it happens, it feels good and then what? Then it’s the next day and up early you wonder, what’s next? Life moves you on. The sunshine blazes in the livingroom, the computer is filled with emails to answer, pieces of word that need attention, the Today Show plays, the coffee perks, exercise, time for exercise and the guitar calls…get back here. Let’s move beyond together.
I’m ready for the next challenge! What’s out there?

Bonnie,
I am sorry that I did not check your blog earlier – such beautiful thoughts and words – especially your feeling before and during your performance and your tender but intense connection to your guitar.
I relate to the question, WHAT’S NEXT?
When I walk away on retirment day, I will be leaving my PLACE OF WORK identity.
Oh, I have many more identities in my life, but so much of yourself is given to a profession and the place and space that allowed you to be “at work.”
Can your professional credibility be maintained after retirement?
How did you feel when you retired?

Thanks Cindy,
For your reading and kind words. Here’s what I have to say about retirement: Get ready for fun and excitement and freedom and opportunities to enjoy life in a new way. You WILL have a professional identity, just one you will create.
