I am submerged in the new Apple Ilife ‘08 Suite of tools/Just another Apple Poster Girl

I am using the unique Apple one-on-one support to move my own work in digital storytelling. I am creating a new anthology piece for the HVWP’s most recent Summer Institute 2007 community. I have two of these pieces under my belt that I have shared at our annually scheduled October renewal. The TC’s, coming back to reconnect with their summer community seem to love these pieces that include their writings as the voice over with music and photos from the summer.
The arrival of a dramatic Apple upgrade to the Ilife suite came at the absolute perfect time for me. Once a week I ‘ve been meeting with Gene and or Ken and sharing my adventures/questions using the new software. I recorded and edited my voiceover on new version of Garageband and then included some music and lots of photos housed in 18 individual folders for each teacher. It’s a large piece and that offers challenges that don’t exist when you create smaller pieces, but that’s fine, the bigger the challenge, the more I can learn.
I have an inservice workshop to prepare for in October, the week after I get back from Israel. I think I need to take both computers for that trip. Imagine, wondering, should I take two? Actually I did take my Mac and my PC when I was preparing my workshop for Martha’s kids at NFA. Okay, here’s what I love. It’s me, Bonnie Kaplan, working with new software, opening tabs and clicking away. Frustrated, sure, but I have my questions and next lesson scheduled with Ken for Monday night. I hope Gene’s around as well. I know I’m spoiled, why not? I am a VERY good tech customer and I am VERY loyal to Apple. Very! I hate shopping at Best Buy. I can’t trust their advice. Now that’s not the same when I call B and H for support. Love them too.
Okay, time to take a break. Tuvia’s ready for our trip to the Village. I’ll be back. See you.
