Hancock: Waste of Time

Another Big Willie weekend, I’m sure and why did I have to kick in some of my money to encourage Will Smith to make more of these summer blockbusters?
The 7:15 showing was bursting at the seams. People were turned away. Why didn’t we offer up our seats? Borders bookstore is two spots away. No, we sat through all the commercials, the trailers and yes, the movie as well. I think I checked my watch more than Tuvia did.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE WILL SMITH but not without this “Big Willie” reservation. 90 minutes of silliness. I wonder how many agreed with me? Lots of applause from the group as the credits began to roll.
I was hoping to find a theater nearby playing Tell No One, a new French thriller, but it’s not up here yet. I can’t wait. Lots great! I will TELL EVERYONE!
Okay, does it pay to even rehash the Hancock plot? No! I wouldn’t take kids to it. Wait for the new Batman coming. And of course, I still loved Ironman. My movie freak nephew and I are on the same page these days: we both loved Ironman (Robert D.J. can do no wrong) and Mongol, and he used to wonder why I would bother to watch a movie I needed to read. He is growing up. YES!
Back to Will. He has done much better work. I hope he moves back to what I prefer and I promise to save my money next summer and put it toward something more worthwhile.
That’s a promise.
